Ocean City Car Show: Don’t Miss Hot Rods in May

In May, over 3,000 custom cars cruise into Ocean City for the annual Cruisin’ Ocean City Car Show. Hot rods, customs, classics, street machines, muscle cars and trick trucks strut their stuff as they cruise the boardwalk at 8 a.m. every morning. Cruisin’ Ocean City Car Show

Each year, guests and drivers from 20 states and Canada make an appearance at this renown event. Most cars and vendors set up at the Convention Center parking lot with mini shows scattered throughout at local businesses. In addition express auctioneers are onsite and ready for action at the OC Collector Car Auction. Participants can register their cars and sign up as a bidder for guaranteed spots.

Make note that all cars must be street legal and have updated registration on-hand. Due to safety and regulations, only 3,000 cars are allowed at the event and excessively loud exhausts are prohibited. For those who can’t make it to this Ocean City car show, there’s another one in October.

Celebrities and Live Entertainment

The fun doesn’t just include cars though. Visitors also get a chance to meet celebrities, get autographs and see live performances. Celebrities include actors and actresses from popular T.V. shows and top acts in music. Concerts and meet-and-greets take place at the convention center, and purchase tickets in advance for the best seat.

Shopping and Fun

While admiring cars and stars, stop by local and national vendors selling everything from car mods and products to handmade souvenirs. A few vendors include Covercraft, Meguiar’s, Ride Tech, and Ocean City businesses. Other things to do include Pin-up contests, Trimper’s Family Fun Night, grand finale awards with over 500 awards and 3,000 giveaways. Don’t miss the boardwalk car parades every morning, which begin at North Division Street and head south toward the inlet.
