“I always wanted my own business and was not sure how to go about it,” said Ken Erdberg, iTrip® Fort Walton Beach owner. “A franchise was a good way to start a business that had a proven plan to help minimize risk. This year (2023) marks our fifth anniversary.”

“I like helping people find vacation accommodations in our community,” said Ken. “Helping homeowners make money is also satisfying, as this is a win-win for both the manager and homeowner. In my spare time, I help local charities and causes through the Fort Walton Beach Rotary Club.”
Ken’s background includes 25 years of technology and product development. While different from short-term rental management, one principle has remained the same: Deliver the best customer service. He uses this same approach to manage each vacation rental property with the personal care it deserves.

Expansion Into Navarre
In 2022, despite challenges that stemmed from travel restrictions and a global pandemic, Ken partnered with another iTrip franchise location to expand their services. iTrip Fort Walton Beach and iTrip Pensacola created a joint effort to provide better short-term rental management services in Navarre, Florida.
“During the last few years, demand for our short-term rental property management program has increased,” said Ken. “We decided to expand to Navarre to better serve vacation rental owners and visiting guests. Between the two locations, we manage vacation rentals in Pensacola Beach, downtown Pensacola, Gulf Breeze, Navarre, Fort Walton Beach and Okaloosa Island.”

Owning a business may come with challenges, but Ken and his family love the Fort Walton Beach area and enjoy sharing things to do with guests. Ken is considered a local expert, as he graduated from high school in the area and moved back to be near family. Today, he uses this local knowledge to help visitors have a memorable experience.
