Meet the Artists
The Fort Myers American Sand Sculpting Championship ranks among the largest of its kind. For 10 days, some 50,000 people will witness the building, judging and prizes. Artists use more than 1,000 tons of sand to create intricate masterpieces. In between viewing, attend live demonstrations and meet the sculptors as they work. Many sand sculptors enjoy chatting with the audience and explaining their sculpting techniques.
The sand sculpting championship offers plenty of family fun as well. Pick up a bite to eat or peruse arts and crafts in the vendor village. Guests also love listening to live performances and entering to win fun prizes. Small fry will delight in play areas stocked with bounce houses, slides, climbing walls and plenty of sand tools to create their own masterpieces.
Admission to this U.S. Sand Sculpting competition costs less than $10 per person per day, with children ages 4 and younger free. The event takes place at the Wyndham Garden Hotel in Fort Myers Beach.
