Boston Red Sox

One of New England’s top professional MLB teams, the Boston Red Sox play at Fenway Park. The team began as one of the first franchises in the American league, dating to 1901. As of 2024, the Red Sox have earned nine World Series titles and have appeared 13 times.

The team and its home stadium Fenway Park welcome baseball fans from around the world. Since 1912, Fenway Park has been one of the most popular ballparks in the U.S. Tours are open to the public year-round but have limited hours on game day.

Boston Celtics

Those interested in basketball can’t miss the Boston Celtics. This team dates to 1946 and became an NBA franchise in 1949. The team has become one of the most successful teams in the NBA with 17 championship titles as of 2024.

The Celtics play at TD Garden, the largest sports and entertainment arena in New England. More than 3.5 million people come to the stadium each year for Boston professional sports teams, concerts, wrestling and ice shows.

New England Patriots

NFL fans can watch the New England Patriots in nearby Foxboro, Massachusetts. The team began around 1960 when professional football came to the area. To date in 2024, the Patriots have won six Superbowls and 11 American Football Conference (AFC) championships.

Gillette Stadium, located 25 miles from Boston, hosts the Patriots. The stadium is also known for its creative design, which includes a stylized lighthouse and a bridge that offers scenic views. Other events at Gillette Stadium include football training camps and concerts.

Boston Bruins

The NHL Boston Bruins provides hockey fans action that only hockey can provide. The team played its first national hockey league game in 1924 and was the first American team to join the league. They went on to win the Stanley Cup six times as of 2024.

New England Revolution

Love professional soccer? Then don’t miss the MLS New England Revolution. The team, a.k.a. The Revs, began in 1996 and has won the Eastern Conference Championship and appeared in five MLS cup finals as of 2024.

The Revs also play at Gillette Stadium in Foxboro. In addition to plenty of space, each seat faces midfield, so everyone has an awesome place to watch the game.
