However, some of the best greens are located along scenic Highway 30A in the Florida panhandle. This area has championship layouts, private clubs and public courses that cater to all skill levels. Camp Creek Golf Club
Camp Creek sits between Highway 98 and Highway 30A. Tom Fazio designed the course, which offers 7,200 yards that have hosted vacationers and pros alike. Camp Creek has also earned top honors from Golf Digest and Golf Week.
This course offers special features as it was designed with native plants and wildlife in mind. While playing 18 holes, enjoy a natural setting, views of the greens from every box and wetlands. Yards range from 5,150 to a championship 7,159. The course also underwent renovation in 2020, and includes recreational facilities, new natural walking paths and new grass.
Origins Golf Club
Origins Golf Club, located in Watersound, features native trees and flora designed throughout a developing community. This Davis Love III design strives to incorporate wetlands and natural surroundings into a fun course.
The Origins Course offers a six-hole regulation course that plays as a 10-hole par 3. Designed as a short course, players come here for an option suited for all skill levels including families and beginners. However, regulation-length holes and greens provide a challenge for avid golfers. The club also has a pool and foot golf options.
Santa Rosa Golf and Beach Club
Located in popular Santa Rosa Beach, Santa Rosa Golf and Beach Club operates as the only member-owned and private golf club in the Highway 30A area. Plus, this award-winning course runs along the white-sand beaches 30A is best known.
The Santa Rosa golf course offers 18 holes and a par 72. Two holes back up the the Gulf of Mexico, while others wind through natural habitats and house native plants and trees. Players also enjoy its elevation changes, complex dunes and two holes that end at the clubhouse.
Seascape Resort Golf Course
Scenic Miramar Beach houses one of the top 30A golf courses. Part of its charm are lush forests and lakes that relax players during their game. Seascape Golf Course was designed by Joe Lee and caters to all skill levels.
A par 70 measuring 6,100 yards, Seascape Resort Golf Course has fresh and coastal water hazards and Gulf of Mexico views. In fact, 15 holes have water hazards. Those short on time may play nine holes in the afternoon. Seascape Resort Golf Course sits on a large resort that also has beach access, water sports and tennis.
The Golf Garden
Perfect for families and casual players, The Golf Garden ranks among the top 30A golf courses for playability. Visitors also enjoy a short game with water hazards and additional golf options.
The Golf Garden manages a nine-hole executive course that measures a par 29. Beginners and pros enjoy this option as it helps improve their game with water hazards and two par 4s. Then try the driving range or play the 18-hole putting course. This course suits those with children or players who want to perfect their short game. In addition, The Golf Garden hosts nighttime golfing during summer months.
