Frisco Adventure Park

Open year-round for outdoor recreation, Frisco Adventure Park offers fun for nature lovers. The 1,200-foot tubing hill ranks as a must in the winter, and lets guests tube to the bottom together or by themselves. Due to popularity, reservations are required on weekends and holidays.

The adventure park also houses Frisco Nordic Center, a top place for skiing in Frisco. Families who visit the Nordic center find miles of skiing and snowshoe trails, and ski lessons perfect for beginners. For a more relaxed activity, take a sleigh ride with Two Below Zero Sleigh Rides. Guests start with a 20-minute ride through snowy landscape, and enjoy dinner and live entertainment in a heated tent. Afterwards, Two Below Zero takes families back to the Nordic center. Reservations are recommended for sleigh rides.

Sometimes, parents and kids need some space. Kids Night Out provides kids the opportunity to make new friends and play, while Mom and Dad enjoy alone time. Kids Night Out allows kids K-5 to tube at the park, have a pizza dinner and watch a movie. Events fill up fast, so book in advance.

Summers at Frisco Adventure Park

During summer, families find several free attractions open at Frisco Adventure Park. The park features a free bike park, free skate park and free disc golf course. Bikers will find a pump track for beginners and courses for more expert riders.

One popular option is the dirt jump facility, which helps bikers get air in no time. The skate park has ramps and features for all skill levels. Families should wear safety equipment including helmets and pads. Visitors also enjoy the 9- or 18-hole disc golf course. Before playing, don’t forget to buy discs at the on-site day lodge.

For more Frisco family fun, take chuck wagon rides through the Rocky Mountain. Reconnect with nature and hike or walk on 12 miles of paved pathways that wind through the area.

Frisco Bay Marina

Located in Dillon Reservoir – a must for water lovers in Summit County – Frisco Bay Marina ranks as the go-to place for water activities. Start by planning a canoe, kayak or SUP adventure. Or rent a fishing boat and equipment, or take a guided fishing tour with Frisco locals. Families may also rent a sailboat and let the wind whisk them away.

Marina Park, located at the marina, offers a great place for playing and picnics. Pack a lunch and sun protection to let kids play all day while parents enjoy scenic mountain views. Dogs are welcome at Marina Park but should be leashed.

Also note Dillon Reservoir – a.k.a. Lake Dillon – features 25 miles of shoreline set against the Rocky Mountains. It serves as the area’s largest lake in and hosts sailing regattas and boating events.

Historic Park and Museum

When not playing outside, stop by Frisco Historic Park and Museum to learn about the town’s history. Frisco once served as a mining and railroad town, but has since transformed into a thriving Colorado destination.

Families can take free self-guided tours to see artifacts and structures that celebrate culture and people. The Historic Park walking tour showcases an original schoolhouse circa 1899, individual cabins and a log chapel, which served as Frisco’s first church. In addition to tours, the museum hosts lectures, hikes and special programs.

Frisco Escape Room

Another spot for Frisco family fun is Frisco Escape Room. With a focus on historical tales, Frisco Escape Room offers four different gaming experiences.

Finders Keepers — inspired by an 1898 Denver Hotel heist — lets players search for lost loot. Or search for a missing MI6 agent during A Winter Fall while investing the circumstances surrounding his disappearance. Escape Room games are open to all ages, but kids under 15 must be accompanied by an adult. Families have one hour to escape, making this a quick interactive activity when not outdoors.
