Bethany Beach lies guarded by its famous totem pole in the southwestern corner of Delaware, along with South Bethany and Fenwick Island. The bay side of the beach provides a top spot to sail, swim, fish, surf, boogie board, water ski and boat.

Additionally, visitors have ample opportunities to shop, dine, play basketball and volleyball on the beach, brush up on video games in one of the arcades, or take a leisurely walk on the boardwalk. Bethany Beach has become a top beach destination for families and celebrity sightings.

Let Dewey Beach Inspire You

Lying just south of Rehoboth, Dewey Beach’s ocean waters are ideal for jet skiing, swimming, surf fishing, skim boarding, and other water activities. Priding itself on a “rock-and-roll soul” and youthful vibe, Dewey Beach houses several nightlife spots in Delaware Shores.

For dancing and drinking, head to a bayside nightclub such as Hammerheads and Rusty Rudder. Visitors can also meet locals and order a Bloody Mary at The Starboard, a popular bar. Before the trip is over, head to Bottle and Cork, known to some as the greatest rock and roll bar in the world.

See Fenwick Island

In proximity to Bethany Beach lies Fenwick Island on the Delaware-Maryland state line near Ocean City. The island offers families opportunities for fishing, windsurfing and relaxing on the beach.

Aside from Fenwick Island’s beautiful beaches, visitors should check out Fenwick Island State Park, Viking Golf Amusements and Thunder Lagoon Water Park. And don’t forget to stop by Fenwick Island Lighthouse, an important landmark and top attraction.

Relax on Lewes Beach

A town with plenty of history, Lewes is “the first town in the first state.” Settled by the Dutch in 1631, most know Lewes for its quiet, small-town feel. The town offers historic, nautical and recreational activities that celebrate its rich history.

Additionally, like other Atlantic Ocean beaches, there is no shortage of water sports. Cape Henlopen State Park, just outside of Lewes, is home to beaches, nature trails, bird sanctuaries and Seaside Nature Center. For those who want to see New Jersey, hop aboard the Cape May-Lewes Ferry to cross the bay from Lewes to New Jersey.

Join the Fun at Rehoboth Beach

Rehoboth Beach remains one of the most visited Atlantic Ocean beaches due to its size. In fact, it is the largest of the Delaware Shores resorts.

Measuring 1 mile, this beach features water fun for all ages and Rehoboth Beach Boardwalk, named one of the best in the U.S. Stroll the boardwalk to find locally made products, delicious food, entertainment and a bandstand. Visit Milford’s Riverwalk

Centrally located in southern Delaware, Milford showcases art through downtown streets and riverwalk. Visitors can browse dozens of art galleries, retail boutiques and dine at one of the restaurants in Milford.

Mispillion River Walk provides a scenic way to get exercise and see natural beauty. As the largest municipal park in the state, it measures 1 mile and winds through downtown. Other nearby attractions include DuPont Nature Center and Abbott’s Mill Nature Center, both suited for nature and history lovers.

Meet Milton Locals

Craft beer fans can’t miss Dogfish Head Brewery in Milton, home to award-winning brews and friendly locals. When visiting Milton, admire historic houses, small businesses and small-town charm. The town also hosts parades, fishing tournaments, river races and scenic tours.
